In-person events have been on the back burner for a couple of years now, but it’s time to get back out there and start participating in live events again! We’ve given you 5 reasons to attend a Virtual Career Fair, so why not give you some reasons to attend a Live Career Fair?

Build Connections
Face-to-face events offer a higher level of engagement. Building connections virtually is possible, but it can be challenging. With face-to-face events come more easily recognizable body language, more opportunities to network with others, and messages that are conveyed more easily. Additionally, if you meet someone in person, you’re more likely to continue to connect with that person even after the event has ended – you can get a feel for their personality more accurately in person than you would be able to virtually.
Fewer Distractions
With virtual events come distractions. If you’re attending any event virtually, you’re more likely to be looking at notifications on your phone, checking your emails, or paying attention to your surroundings. When you’re at a live event, you’re much less likely to have your phone out, which means there are fewer opportunities for you to be distracted.
Feel Like You’re Participating
At a virtual event, it can sometimes feel like you’re just part of the audience rather than being a participant. When it comes to live events, you’re there and actively participating – you’re not on mute listening to just one person talk, but instead, you’re able to actively listen and respond. You’re having a conversation with someone and sharing your thoughts rather than being a sounding board for someone else’s thoughts.
At the end of the day, both virtual and in-person events have their pros and cons, and you likely prefer one over the other.
